Your writing practice: Breaking through (online)

In this virtual Q&A session, I invite you to bring your writing-related questions and gather ideas on how to move through your creative blocks.

This session is for you if...

  • You're ready to get real about your relationship with your writing.
  • You want your writing to feel less like a struggle and more like a source of nourishment.
  • You've started a book or large-scale writing project and have a clear sense of the story / ideas you want to share.

How it works

First, you'll briefly introduce yourself and what you're working on. Then we'll invite you to share the creative challenge that's top of mind for you.

The group will offer suggestions and ideas for working through whatever might be holding you back, in your writing practice and/or your craft.

What you'll gain

  • Support and encouragement from fellow writers
  • The opportunity to learn from creative peers facing similar challenges
  • Ideas to help you move through Resistance
  • The motivation to return to the page

The hope is to shift your perspective, feed your inspiration, and give you a (gentle) creative nudge.

There's no fee for the session, and there are just 4 spots available.

Register here (you'll be asked to join the Meetup group first) or contact me to reserve your spot.

Saturday, October 29, 2022 to Sunday, October 30, 2022

Write where you are:

Co-writing weekend (online)

In this extended online co-writing session, we'll dedicate a weekend to one of our writing projects.

(If you can't set aside the entire weekend, that's fine! You're welcome to write with us for any part of it.)

Our goal: to be a source of mutual encouragement and gentle accountability as we collectively recommit to the work.

This weekend is for you if...

...you want to take a deep(er) dive into your writing project.

...you're looking for community and a shared sense of purpose around your writing.

...you're longing for more concentration and focus.

How it works

This is a virtual event, so you can participate from anywhere.

Since we're all working in different time zones, it's up to you when you start and stop writing each day.

We'll bookend our co-writing weekend with 2 (brief!) on-camera gatherings (exact times TBD):

  • Before we write, we'll share how we're preparing, what we're working on, and clarify our intentions for the weekend.
  • Afterwards, we'll come together to assess how the writing went, including what went well, what surprised us, and what we'd like to adjust going forward

BONUS: I'll randomly choose 1 writer who attends both on-camera gatherings

for a 60-minute coaching session with me!

Other than these on-camera gatherings, the co-writing session will take place entirely via Discord, an online chat platform. You're invited to participate as little or as much as you like in the chat.

What you'll gain

  • Motivation, encouragement, and a nurturing container for your writing
  • The option to seek support if/when you need it.
  • The capacity to connect with other writers who share your passion for the craft
  • The satisfaction of showing up for your work for a dedicated period of time

There is no fee for this retreat, and there are just 25 spots available.
